Description

Old School shiraz mature, epitomises every facet of this wine. Old School is old world, old fashioned and traditional.

From the hand picking, through the basket pressing of whole bunches into small open fermenters, this wine is old school.

GISA Old School, Barossa Valley Shiraz/Mataro, comprising 88% premium Barossa Shiraz & 12% Mataro from McLaren Vale. Fermented dry and kept separate in New, 1, 2 & 3 year old French & American oak barrels.

Mataro or Mourvedre originally named after the town of Murviedro on Spains, provides a savoury / gamey or earthy, “umami” flavours.

This is a full bodied wine with drive, displaying rich ripe fruits, typicial of the Barossa, tempered by the Mataro from the Vale.

The wine drinks well now, but afforded the time in the cellar will improve the patience over the next 6-8 years.
